An electrician’s van was broken into overnight in his driveway on Friday 2nd August. Around £5000 worth of tools were stolen and the footage was caught through CCTV.

Will Humphreys, the owner of the van discovered the theft at 06.30 Friday morning, meaning he missed out on a days work and pay as he had nothing to complete the jobs.

His CCTV footage appears to show the thieves entering the rear of his van around 2am Friday 2nd August and taking equipment.

Living with his girlfriend and 23 month old daughter, Humphreys plans to increase his home security –

“I’ve booked my van in to have extra locks fitted. I’m putting a fence up down the side of my house”

“Then I’m going to have a few more sensor put on the garden so it makes a noise in the house if somebody’s on the garden or on the drive”.

Humphreys’ girlfriend has been left feeling targeted by the incident –

“It’s just frightening. It’s that initial thought of just being scared. It’s not a nice feeling at all. Especially when we’ve got Erin in the house. All sorts go through your head” Ms Ellis said
